Upgrading from Time Door 3.00/01 to Time Door 3.1
Time Door 3.1 requires a minor upgrade from earlier versions. To upgrade,
first select the 3.1 upgrade in SETUP.EXE. This option will put all time
prizes in a seperate file. You should still run the conversion even if
you don't have any time prizes.
After upgrading, you need to check the Byte bank settings in each profile.
The conversion routine sets the following defaults for every profile.
Access Byte Bank: YES
Maximum Byte Bank Download Balance: 30
Maximum Daily Withdrawal of Downloads: 5
Maximum Byte Bank Kilobyte Balance: 1000
Maximum Daily Withdrawal of Kilobytes: 300
Previous versions allowed the Total Banked Time statistic to become wrong.
Make sure that you run the STATISTICS option in TDSYSOP to reset the
incorrect statistics.
Upgrading from Time Door 2.X to Time Door 3.X.
Please print out this file and follow it step for step.
1) Load your old setup program and print out all the configuration screens.
2) Erase ALL files in your Time Door directory EXCEPT...
TIME.DAT, TRIVIA.DAT (if edited), TIMEDOOR.ID (if registered) & TDMASTER.DAT
which should be saved.
3) UNZIP TDOOR30x.ZIP to your Time Door directory.
4) Run SETUP.EXE and run the (3).0 Conversion from the Setup main menu.
5) Read the SysOp Doc for information on setting up your profiles. Your
setup options will have to be recreated using the printouts you
created in step one.
6) You will need to write a new batch file. For MOST cases all batch files
whether your system is multinode or not would look like...
cd\door\timedoor <== Change to the Time Door directory
TIMEDOOR REMOTE <== Load Time Door reading Userinfo.dat, door.sys
CAT <== Only needed if you don't shell to your doors.
..and that's it.
7) This program uses the system variables for the node id and the COM port irq.
If you run a single node system you need not worry about the node id. If
you use a standard IRQ setting for your COM port, you don't have to set
the IRQ system variable either. Please see the WC manual for more
information on the system variables.
UPGRADING FROM TIME DOOR 1.X to TIME DOOR 3.X.
Due to situations beyond my control, there is no way to upgrade from Time Door
1.X to Time Door 3.X. You must start over if you are using a 1.X version of
Time Door.
